The XRAY GTX8'27 is the ultimate evolution of XRAY's 1/8 nitro GT competition car. Designed, developed, and fully manufactured in-house at the XRAY factory in Slovakia, Europe, using the most advanced German and Swiss machinery, the GTX8 is a true masterpiece of RC engineering built for the most demanding drivers.

GT Alu Backbone Framework: High-Rigidity Flat Chassis

The all-new flat 3mm aluminum chassis with a completely flat profile — including the side sections without traditional front kick-up — lowers the center of gravity, improves stability, and delivers more consistent handling across all track conditions.

The front bulkhead is optimized for the flat chassis layout, while the rear bulkhead is redesigned to accommodate the upper center top deck mounting, improving chassis stiffness and ensuring more consistent flex characteristics throughout the car.

The carbon top deck system features an upper carbon steering plate, front and rear center carbon top decks, a carbon rear brace, and aluminum support structures that work together to optimize rigidity, steering precision, and chassis balance. The new two-piece aluminum center 2-speed bulkhead allows quick and easy servicing while improving drivetrain rigidity and overall structural consistency.


Front Aluminum Suspension

The GTX8 comes standard with the popular aluminum C-hub and steering block, delivering maximum precision and stability at high speeds. The 6° aluminum C-hub has been slightly updated with a small relief on the lower side to ensure proper clearance for the new aluminum shock adapters. The aluminum steering blocks remain unchanged, maintaining their proven performance and reliability — machined from premium Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum.


Rear Aluminum Suspension

The aluminum rear uprights provide increased stability on and off power. Set screws secure the hubs with minimal play for consistent handling. The kit includes the aluminum uprights together with the graphite camber link mounting plate. Camber link extensions are machined from lightweight carbon fiber and feature 4 adjustment positions.


Single-Disc Brake System

The GTX8'27 features an all-new single-disc brake system with piston design, engineered for more effective, consistent, and controllable braking performance under demanding GT racing conditions.

The system includes a large ventilated hardened steel brake disc for improved cooling efficiency and stable braking performance during long runs. Special factory-glued brake pads ensure precise brake feel, smooth operation, and maximum reliability. The lightweight titanium brake cam improves precision and durability, while the optimized throttle and brake linkages provide accurate response and consistent brake modulation.


Redesigned Carbon Shock Towers

The front and rear carbon shock towers have been redesigned with optimized mounting positions for both the shock absorbers and camber links. The shock mounting features two rows of positions for precise setup tuning:

  • Lower row: reduces chassis roll for higher corner speed and a flatter driving feel.
  • Upper row: increases chassis roll to generate more traction on lower-grip surfaces.

The rear shock tower also includes dual mounting positions for the rear wing holder, allowing additional tuning of rear stability and downforce characteristics.


Central Dogbone Drive Shafts with HUDY Hardened Pins

The central dogbone drive shafts now feature an all-new assembly with HUDY special hardened pins, significantly increasing durability and extending the lifespan of both the dogbones and the diff outdrives. All drivetrain components are manufactured from HUDY Spring Steel™ and precision hardened to ensure maximum strength, wear resistance, and long-term performance.


Suspension Arms

The front suspension arms, molded from Medium material, are reinforced for optimal durability under high-impact conditions. Integrated mounting holes allow installation of carbon arm stiffeners for precise flex tuning, increasing corner speed and delivering significantly improved control during corner entry and exit.

The rear suspension arms are molded from X-hard material to increase stability and improve traction consistency, especially on high-traction tracks.


Suspension Holders

The front A suspension holder features updated geometry optimized for the new flat chassis configuration without kick-up, improving adjustability and delivering more precise steering response. The aluminum D arm holder features an updated design adapted to the new chassis layout.

The aluminum suspension holders retain the Integrated Suspension Settings™ (I.S.S.), allowing quick and easy geometry changes. Using eccentric bushings and a few shims, the suspension can be fully adjusted within seconds for perfect setup in any track condition.


Shock Extensions

Aluminum suspension arm extensions create geometry specific to the needs of the GT category, increasing stability and improving corner speed. The front extension offers 2 shock mounting positions and the rear extension offers 3 positions.


Big Bore Shock Absorbers with 3-in-1 Shock Cap

The oversized big bore shocks feature 16.2mm I.D. shock bodies, externally threaded with an adjustable collar for quick and easy spring preload adjustment. Shock bodies are hardcoated in titanium color. The all-new 3-in-1 shock caps with 4 bleed holes allow three different configurations:

  • Emulsion: mixes oil and air inside the shock. Recommended as the starting point for most track conditions.
  • Rebound (cell membrane): best matched to low-traction, flat, slippery tracks. Highest rebound of the three options.
  • Zero rebound (ribbed membrane): suited for very bumpy tracks. No rebound.

Hand-Matched Shock Springs

The front 2-dot 1-stripe springs are the team-choice setup, providing optimal steering response and precise, consistent handling. XRAY shock springs are manually measured, selected, and matched into pairs to guarantee precisely equal length and damping characteristics in every set.


Titanium Turnbuckles

The GTX8'27 features ultra-lightweight titanium turnbuckles manufactured entirely in-house in Europe. Thanks to their heavy-duty design and premium titanium materials, they deliver enhanced performance and exceptional durability under all racing conditions.


Redesigned Bumper System

The new bumper system includes a composite front bumper specifically developed for the flat chassis layout, ensuring perfect fitment and optimal integration with the front end. The new lightweight foam bumper significantly reduces total weight while maintaining excellent impact absorption and protection.


Ball-Bearing Anti-Roll Bar System

The front and rear anti-roll bar systems are equipped with ball bearings and mounted via aluminum collars, allowing easy and precise adjustment while eliminating excessive play. The 2.8mm front and rear anti-roll bars are the proven team-choice setup, manufactured from spring steel, with a range of thicknesses available for fine-tuning.


Lowered Radio Box

The radio box features a split front and rear design that creates optimized left-to-right chassis flex characteristics, helping to generate increased overall traction and more consistent handling. The flex characteristic can be adjusted via the connecting screw on the front carbon plate — with the screw installed the radio box provides increased rigidity, while removing the screw allows increased flex.

The compact assembly includes carbon battery and receiver covers that securely protect the electronics while maintaining easy access for maintenance. The lowered design improves overall chassis stability and handling consistency, especially at the high speeds of GT racing. The complete electronics assembly can be quickly removed for servicing by undoing just a few screws from the bottom of the chassis.


High-Volume Gear Differential

The high-volume differentials improve vehicle control and consistency over long runs. Large-capacity cases and oversized internal gears with more teeth deliver improved differential moment. The large oil volume and gear tooth profile reduce overheating and extend component life.

The diff outdrives are super-lightweight, machined from HUDY Spring Steel™ with material removed from the outer sections to reduce rotating weight without affecting durability. Inner portions are hand-ground for maximum precision. The crown gear (46T) and pinion gear (13T) feature specially designed profiles for a perfectly matched engagement — ensuring super smooth operation, less drag, and significantly longer lifespan.


Easy Diff Access

The aluminum bulkhead design provides access to the differentials after removing only 4 screws at the rear and 8 at the front, with the entire suspension assembly left mounted on the car.


Engine Mounts

The CNC-machined aluminum engine mounts are made from lightweight alloy and help to dissipate engine heat. Gear mesh is easily adjusted from the bottom of the chassis.


GTX Clutch

The state-of-the-art GTX clutch ensures maximum performance and reliability under all track conditions.


Clutch Bell

The high-acceleration clutch bell features an independent clutch housing with a separate one-piece machined 2-gear 14/18T pinion module. Both the housing and the pinion gear module are hard-coated for extended lifespan.
